A few days after the Pioneers entered the Salt Lake Valley in 1847. The prophet Brigham Young declared the location for the temple by saying "Here will be the temple of our God."

The Groundbreaking was February 14, 1853. It took 40 years to build and the Dedication  was  April 6,1893.

It has since been  modernized and it serves the Church of Latter-Day Saints members in life saving sacred ordinances. It is located on
Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.
